Visa is not required for Australian and New Zealand citizens travelling to the Republic of Serbia, for short stay up to 90 days. Holders of Australian and New Zealand Travel Document (Permit to Re-enter, Aliens Passport, Refugee Travel Document) need visa for entry to the Republic of Serbia.

Note: holders of foreign passports who have a valid Schengen, UK and other Member States' visa, or visa of the United States of America, or have a residence permit in the countries of the Schengen area, EU or the USA, may, without prior visa application, enter, transit or stay in the Republic of Serbia up to 90 days during a six-month period, but not exceeding the expiring date of the said visas or residence permits.

Visa applications can be submitted at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Sydney.

General visa requirements:

  1. Valid passport (passport must be valid at least 90 days from issue date of visa)
  2. Letter of invitation:
    • for a private visit  invitation letter certifed by the Serbian authorities;
    • for a business visit  invitation letter by a company in Serbia;
    • for a tourist trip – proof of payment for the trip (eg. travel agency receipt);
  3. Completed visa application form: (PDF);
  4. Photo (size 3.5x4.5cm);
  5. Return ticket or Itinerary;
  6. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia;
  7. Health insurance;
  8. Visa application fee in 113.00 AUD.

If applying by post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed envelope (Express or Registered Post recommended) or additional $7.00 postage for return of visa. If applying from New Zealand, add $15.00 AUD for postage.

Visa application fee can be paid by cash at the Consulate, or by bank cheque or money order, payable to "The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia", if applying by post.

VISA B (Transit visa)

Transit visa is issued to foreigners planning a single, double or multiple transits through Serbia. A transit visa is valid for up to six months, with the duration of each transit through the country, not exceeding five consecutive days.

For a transit visa, you should have an entry visa for the country you are entering after the Republic of Serbia. In case a visa is not required for that country, you will be asked to present other documents explaining the purpose of your visit there.

VISA B REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Valid passport;
  2. Completed visa application form: (PDF) ;
  3. Photo (size 3.5x4.5cm);
  4. Entry visa to the country to which you are traveling. If visa is not required for that country, other proof of stay in the country is required. (eg.invitation letter)
  5. Return ticket or Itinerary;
  6. Proof of residence (if you are not residing in your native country)
  7. Visa fee of $113.00 AUD.

VISA C (short stay up to 90 days):

Short stay visa is issued for tourism, business or other travel needs including a single, double or multiple entries into Serbia.
The duration of an uninterrupted stay, and/or the total duration of successive visits of a foreigner with a short stay visa shall not exceed 90 days within a period of six months which begins on the day of the first entry.
A short stay visa with the multiple entry option may be valid up to one year, with a maximum stay of 180 days.

VISA C REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Valid passport (passport must be valid at least 90 days from issue date of visa)
  2. Letter of invitation:
    • for a private visit  invitation letter certifed by the relevant authority of the Republic of Serbia
    • for a business visit  invitation letter by a company in Serbia;
    • for a tourist trip – proof of payment for the trip issued by a travel agent (eg. payment receipt);
  3. Completed visa application form: (PDF) ;
  4. Photo (size 3.5x4.5cm);
  5. Return ticket or Itinerary (copy of Driver License and Insurance if travelling by car);
  6. Proof of residence (if you are not residing in your native country);
  7. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia (eg. Bank statement, Credit Card statement, Traveller Cheques. Allow 50.00 EUROS per day);
  8. Health insurance;
  9. Visa fee of $113.00 AUD.

VISA D (temporary stay up to 12 months):

This visa is issued in the Republic of Serbia by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A temporary stay visa can be authorised in duration of up to 12 months and can be extended for the same period, unless otherwise determined by Serbian Law.

VISA D REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Valid passport;
  2. Completed visa application form: (PDF) ;
  3. 2 photos (size 3.5x4.5cm);
  4. Proof of reasons for stay in Serbia (eg. family, marriage, employment, business, study, sport, training, specialisation, medical treatment, etc.)
  5. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia;
  6. Proof of accommodation in Serbia;
  7. Health insurance.

Important information:

  • For Visa processing time allow a minimum of three weeks as all visas are granted by the Serbian authorities.
  • Foreigners may bring in an unlimited amount of foreign currency to Serbia, however all amounts over 10.000 EUROS must be declared at the border and a receipt issued. Upon leaving the country, the amount of cash they carry out cannot exceed the amount on the receipt.
